Misfire returns
2005-08-14 00:00:00
Nearly 120 miles after the engine cut-outs a few weeks ago, the problem has returned. Whilst cruising along at the national speed limit on a single carriage way, the car spluttered very briefly. It happened twice in short succession and was only enough to cause a minor interruption in power, but something was definitely amiss.Just half a mile later when pulling away at a roundabout, it happened again, though this time it was more pronounced and actually cut the engine completely, leaving me coasting in the inside of a very busy roundabout. Turning the key, the engine fired up straight away and i headed for home, though not before the car spluttered once more!
Possible causes of this could be:
- Spark plugs
- HT leads
- Coil
- Stepper motor
- Air mass sensor
- Coolant temperature sensor
- Contaminants in fuel due to D-Tox
